What is your dream tropical paradise? Turquoise water, white sand, green jungles, granitic coral islands and extremely welcoming people. If this is what you are looking for and more, then Seychelles is for you. Before I start talking about Seychelles and what mother nature has granted this paradise. My African friends always thought that I somehow have an African blood hehe, yes I do share some noticeable traits hehe. No wondering why I strongly felt that in Africa.
Seychelles is a destination for those who are not only looking for an ultimate tranquility experience but also for those who are passionate about deepwater activities and experiences. This heaven of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean will grant you with one of the most open access to coral gardens; this place will completely leave you confused which island to choose. They have the most beautiful hotels, and all almost have the same experiences when it comes to aquatic pleasures. Snorkeling experience is indescribable with thousands of coral reefs and tropical kinds of colorful tropical fish and most importantly stingrays, as I don’t do diving though I tried it more than once, snorkeling is the safe way to go for me.
We chose our hotel in Mahe Island, which considered to be the largest island and where Victoria “the capital” is located. Like all Four Seasons Hotels, this four seasons were among the most beautiful locations and services. From the first moment I got out of the airport, I was extremely shocked by the beauty of nature, that large rocks formation and that rich tones of green was absolutely captivating. Talking about that moment definitely, makes me want to go back. The welcoming African people all around you, these happy faces look so rested with a big smile. This kind of start would for sure assure you what the rest of this trip would be.
Laying down at the white sand surrounded by jungles and huge rocks will disconnect you from all surroundings, just listening to the sound of nature and drinking tropical energizing drinks. While my husband went diving, I seized the moment to learn standup paddling; this experience is unforgettable especially when I decided to return to rest to find stingrays all over the shore “I can’t remember how many minutes I stood there on my board thinking what’s gonna happen next hehe”.
The hotel offers amazing spa treatments. It’s like a ritual for us as a couple to have couple treatment each trip. This experience was undoubtedly the best couple treatment. I strongly encourage you to try coco de mer ritual treatment “coco de mer is in French coconut of the sea, it’s Seychelles endemic nut that has a sensuous shape of a woman back” that will begin by dipping your body in milk and honey bath. Followed by a deep dreamy massage, live this dream the rest of the night.
There are few other things to do in Seychelles. We took hours trip to visit Victoria “the capital” during its busy time of their busy markets and noisy streets. Victoria is one of the smallest capitals in the world. It is full of life and colors, yes you see their sense of fashion through the complicated hairstyles and colorful layers of contemporary African pieces. Victoria is the cultural and business hub with 90% of Seychelles population. At its center, you’ll meet with the Victoria Clocktower, the baby version of London “Big Ben.”
Through our way to Victoria, we’ve seen other islands that are not less magically beautiful than Mahe. One of the most must-see attraction while in Victoria is Seychelles botanical gardens. With its beautiful streams, coco de mer palms reception in the main alleys. This green garden with a variety of different kind of flowers, bird songs that will softly dangle your ears, the giant over 90-year-old tortoises “if this is your first time see these huge sizes of them, you will be stunned,” and a beautiful rainforest is absolutely worth the visiting.
This alluring experiences with this kids friendly place will for sure leave you with nice memories. Unforgettable experiences that will dazzle all the senses. Nothing ever beats natural beauty.
